MEET YOUR SPEAKER
Professor Greg Shaw, a London-based Urological Surgeon, graduated from St Bartholomew's Medical College in 1999 and completed an MD in prostate cancer research. After urological training in North London, he held a Cambridge University lectureship for four years. He completed the Royal College of Surgeons Fellowship in robotic surgery before joining UCLH as a consultant in 2015. A high-volume robotic prostatectomist, he has performed over 1,300 procedures. He leads the UCLH robotic urology team and Urological Cancer research. His work focuses on improving potency and continence after robotic radical prostatectomy, including pioneering complete urethral preservation techniques.
Professor Shaw’s presentation and discussion for the evening will focus on the Phase 3 RCT NeuroSAFE PROOF study which he recently presented in the ‘Game Changing Session’ at EAU25 in March in Madrid alongside their work with the LaserSAFE technique.
The NeuroSAFE PROOF study has now been published in the Lancet, and demonstrates the technique almost doubles the percentage of men who maintain erectile function following prostate cancer surgery, and our dinner serves as a platform for exploring how this could revolutionise robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP) procedures.1
