INTERNATIONAL SPEAKER

Dr Garza has been in practice in Austin, Texas since 1993. He is currently the Director of Minimally Invasive Surgery for HCA St. David’s North Austin Medical Centre and St. David’s Surgical Hospital. His commitment to minimally invasive surgery with traditional laparoscopy naturally led him to explore and master robotic laparoscopy. Having trained on the robotic platform in 2006, Dr Garza has performed 3,800 cases. Intuitive Surgical designates him as a Mentor Epicentre Surgeon based on best practice techniques, good outcomes and ability to teach. He is recognised nationally and internationally for his work in pioneering robotic gynaecology surgery.
Dr Garza regularly teaches advanced and master robotic courses, lectures both nationally and internationally, and hosts a very robust case observation site, and has hosted nearly 700 surgeons since 2012. He has contributed to published data on robotics, presented on Multi-Site and Single-Site robotics at AAGL, WRGC, and international faculty in Australia and Japan and is the past Chair of AAGL Robotic SIG. He enjoys maximising the benefits of the robotic surgical platform and teaching reproducible techniques.
